How much does this service cost?

Pickup18 is currently offering the system for FREE. There is no cost with using the online system. There may be a cost involved if you are interested in participating in Events or Tournaments. Information can be found by clicking the Events tab.

Are your online payment secure?

Yes! In the event you purchase a round of golf through our site or pay for an event or tournament, all information is done through either PayPal or GolfPayments. Both options will take you to the secure site to enter your credit card information. GolfPayments is an affiliate of Clickitgolf.com.

Do you share my information?

Some information provided is shared with other Pickup18 Members or affiliates of Pickup18. Please see our Terms and Conditions for complete details.

Is my handicap an official USGA Handicap?

No. Currently Pickup18 does not offer official USGA Handicaps. However, most Golf Courses will use the handicap system we have in place for Tournaments and Events. We use the standard formula for the USGA Handicap system with a few modifications. Please see next question for details.

How do you determine my handicap?

The handicap system is designed similiar to the USGA Handicap system. We use the Course Rating, Course Slope and Score to calculate the Index. Your handicap is then determined by the average of the last 20 scores on Pickup18.

Do I post all my scores?

Yes, in order to have accurate results all scores must be posted. Please make sure to review the maximum score table listed on the Stats Page for details about maximum score per hole. This way all scores will be accurate and give you the most accurate handicap.

How do I sign up for an event?

Pickup18 has partnered with Clickitgolf to make signing up for an event very simple. Just go to the Event Page and click the event you wish to participate in. This will take you to the Event Registration where you will sign up for the event and pay all at one time. We then pay the Golf Course so when you show up, you are ready to play golf!

Can anyone join?

Yes, we welcome all golfers of all abililties. Handicap systems have been put in place to give golfers of all abilities an equal chance at winning at any Event or Tournament. Currently we aren't offering Junior Golf so we ask that you are over the age of 18.

My city isn't listed, can I still join?

Yes, anyone can join and use the site for free. However, we may not be able to provide Events or Tournaments in your area. We are always looking to expand to other areas, so please email us at support@pickup18.com if you would like to have your city added to our database.

Am I required to play in Events or Tournaments?

No, the system is designed for you to be able find other golfers to play golf with. We provide Events and Tournaments as a way to help introduce you to other golfers. Events and Tournaments are a good way to improve your golfing skills so we encourage everyone to participate in the Events and Tournaments as much as possible.

What if I decide to cancel my membership?

If you decide to cancel your membership for any reason, just email support@pickup18.com with "Cancel my Membership" in the subject line. We will cancel your membership and remove all information from the database.
